The Graphic Designers’ Holiday Gift Guide, 2012!

The Graphic Designers’ Holiday Gift Guide, 2012!

Oprah has her Favorite Things show, and we just happen to have some favorite things of our own. Things that every graphic and web designer will want to get his or her hands on this holiday season. Whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, or Festivus, listen as the gang talks about all the new toys made just for graphic designers that should be on your list this year. You may even get some good ideas of things to buy the designer in your life, as well as ideas about how you can use your skills as a designer to make one of a kind gifts for anyone on your list. But lets be honest, its mostly for you.

We also answer a few new listener questions while sipping some eggnog and wearing itchy Christmas sweaters. Feeling festive yet??

Wow it was an awesome episode! I found some how you guys restrict yourself and pull back from being too funny. I say let the funny stuff be on the show. For example when Mr. Voss said to get more vodka shots things kinda got pulled back and went back on a regular track. I think you guys have amazing sense of humor and you should let it come out more often as all the audience is mature enough to understand no to get drunk before an interview. I love that funny moments on your show. Just make don’t pull it back the situation calls for it to be funny. Ahh too long comment right? Thanks :)

Hey karan, i agree with you! I think sometimes we try hard to keep everything “safe” but i think our listeners enjoy it when we let loose a little more. I say more drinking and less censorship from now on!

Hey Wes, Mikelle and Brandon! Thanks for answering my question! I’m happy to report that the project has been finished and did not include the potentially bad piece of design my client originally wanted. I was glad to hear you reiterate the fact that as designers we are not just there to push buttons and crank out a product, but can serve as a knowledge base to clients who aren’t aware of best practices and current trends in the industry. Good luck and keep podcasting!

Chris, glad your client saw things your way! Yes, we are more than just “people with photoshop,” and its awesome when clients realize that. The best ones know this, and are willing to pay for your expertise and advice.
